Nartanam - Vol IV No. 1

A Quarterly Journal of Indian Dance - Volume IV - Number 1 - January to March 2004

Nartanam has completed three years of its meaningful existence, in spite of the continued apathy of subscribers. Its articles, always reflecting a serious concern and in-depth study of the issues concerning Indian dance, have been recognized as containing major source materials on different subjects in the field. Its reviews are slowly growing in width and breadth, covering all the major and many marginal classical art forms. Our well-wishers, who looked askance at us and doubted, not our seriousness, but the possible response, now have a broad grin of acceptance. On the eve of the commencement of the Fourth Year of Publication, we thank our eminent as well as young and enthusiastic contributors, our advertisers however few they are, our subscribers both in India and abroad and also the large number of readers who read, comment, send letters of congratulation and approbation having read an issue at a friend's/colleague's house!
