Nartanam - Vol III No. 3

A Quarterly Journal of Indian Dance - Volume III - Number 3 - July to September 2003

It is extremely gratifying to know that our special issue on Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale was received very warmly, not by Bharatanatyam lovers alone, but by the entire dance community. Not in India alone, in every part of the world, to whichever corner Nartanam sailed. Not this Special Issue only. Every one of the issues, more so the Special Ones. They are all welcome editions to be read and to possess, they say. A dance school in Miami, an Indian club in Chicago, the University faculty and students in Wisconsin (U.S.A), London (U.K.) and Toronto (Canada) - all hailed our sincere and serious efforts to bring together research articles of everlasting importance on the discipline as well as reviews of contemporary happenings. This provides, as they claim, a platform for artistes and scholars, teachers and students, specialists and laymen at the same time. We are beholden to everyone who believes that his or her faith in our endeavors has not gone waste!
