Sri Narayana Das was a great artist and a versatile genius. He was a harmonious blend of culture,
poetry, music, dance and drama, and had no parallel. He had become famous in his lifetime for
the performing art form he created, Harikatha, which is a composite of 5 different arts; Purana
pravachanam, Asukavitvam, Classical music, Nrutyam, and Abhinayam. He had made a valuable
contribution and service to the art of Music and Harikatha.
Sri Narayana Das' Harikathas and musical discourses which preached the cult of Bhakti in
modern times were marked by scholarship, literary eminence, and spiritual fervour. Although he
earned fame for his creation and performance of Harikatha, his literary and musical achievements
were no less significant. He was a linguist who composed poetry in Sanskrit, Telugu and Achha
Telugu (pure Telugu) and translated from Persian and English into Sanskrit and Telugu .The
