B. V. DURGABHAVANI Attempting an introduction of ‘Puṃbhāva Saraswati’, the incomparably talented Ādibhaṭla Nārāyaṇa Dāsu gāru is, I think, quite unnecessary. I humbly admit that my knowledge is insufficient to think of writing about the scholarship of the world-renowned ‘Harikathā Pitāmaha’. However, I would like to share a few aspects of his compositions. It is a well-known fact that they are many works that reveal his marvelous scholarship. The Harikatha, ‘**Jānakī Śapathamu**’ is one of the many. Nārāyaṇa Dāsu gāru composed many kṛitis in rare, apurūpa, vivādi rāgas in this exceptional Harikatha. He himself notated the compositions for the benefit the singers. It is my fortune to get an opportunity to sing a few compositions following his notations. I present here a few of them. Here is a composition on Lord Gaṇēṣa in a vivādi raga, **Kalagaḍa** which is derived from the parent rāga, Gāyakapriya.
