**M.N. SARMA**
Bhagatula Ramakotaiah (b. 1924), son of Kutumba Sastry was a true teacher with exceptional zeal and a sense of purpose. He was also a stickler to the tradition. Amiable and friendly with his disciples, he was equally known as a disciplinarian of a rare breed. An imposing figure, he commanded respect and demanded attention. Ramakotaiah was the architect of Kuchipudi studies in the state capital and in the Telangana part of the state. As he was a straightforward man and an outspoken speaker, he had gained as many friends as foes.
