Relation between Gravitational Intensity and Potential

Gravitational intensity is the –ve potential gradient (Potential gradient is the –ve of the space rate of change of gravitational potential.). If ‘dv’ is the small change in gravitational potential in bringing the particle through a small distance ‘dr’ against the gravitational field, then the gravitational intensity is $$ E = -\frac{dv}{dr} $$
