A Magical Night - Guddu

How did Guddu and his friends have fun? Another story in the Guddu series.

“The day has come!” exclaimed Guddu with joy. That day, the family would go camping in the forest. Guddu had been waiting for days for the moment to come, and it had finally arrived.

Early in the morning, the family got in the car and headed to the supermarket to buy supplies and utensils that they could use out in the forest.

“Do not forget the marshmallows!” exclaimed Guddu, running down the aisles of the supermarket.

After buying candies, fruits, some batteries for flashlights, and mosquito repellent, everything was almost ready for the night. Guddu happily left the supermarket and got into the car with a big smile on his face.

There were many things the boy wanted to do, like roasting marshmallows, watching bats, catching fireflies, and many more! He had seen all these things in his adventure picture books, so he wanted so much to do them.

Arriving home, Guddu ran to his bedroom and began to sort through his backpack. He stuffed in clothes, shoes, and toys. Everything was almost ready when a rumbling sound startled him. It had been thunder! Guddu stopped suddenly and looked out of his bedroom window.

“Oh, no!” exclaimed the boy as he saw the sky begin to cloud over, “No, no, no!” Running into the living room, Guddu looked for his parents, looking at the cloudy sky through one of the windows.

“No way! The rain will ruin the day!” exclaimed the boy.

“Don’t worry, son,” his father told him, “We can do it another day.”

Guddu felt sad and ran back to his bedroom. To spoil his mood, the rain began to fall furiously while the boy was lying on his bed, sobbing. Some minutes passed, and his mother entered the room.

“Son, don’t worry. The day is not ruined,” his mother told him, “We can camp in the living room!”

Guddu looked at her and said, “It won’t be much fun like in the woods!”

“I know, but you’ll have fun with your friends and eat lots of marshmallows!” exclaimed his mother.

“Will, my friends, be able to come?” asked Guddu, interested.

“Only if you want to and if their parents allow it,” his mother smiled.

“That’s a great idea!” exclaimed Guddu.

A few hours later, the rain stopped a little, and Guddu’s mother began phoning the parents of Guddu’s friends. They all thought it was a good idea and agreed to take their children that afternoon.

Guddu was happy about that. The day seemed to be not so bad. When the afternoon came, the first friend to arrive was Danny. They both hugged each other.

“I am so glad to see you, Guddu!” exclaimed Danny.

“Me too! Come in! Let’s plan what to do tonight!” Guddu told him.

Both children talked about all their options, from watching movies to telling scary stories, but the latter option did not seem so appealing to them. Gradually, more friends began to arrive.

“I’m glad you’re here!” exclaimed Guddu.

At last, they all arrived. There were six kids in all. Guddu’s mother placed a cup with popcorn, chocolate balls, cookies, and soda on the table.

“Before we eat sweets, let’s wait for the pizza, kids!” said Guddu’s mother to everyone. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.

“It’s the pizza!” exclaimed one of the kids.

When they opened, Guddu’s mother took the pizza boxes, and after opening them, she distributed the slices among everyone. The children laughed and enjoyed the delicious food. “I love pizza!” exclaimed Danny, and everyone laughed.

After a while, they all spread out their sleeping bags in the living room, sat comfortably, and told stories of adventures they had read in their favourite books.

It was a happy and good time! Many of the stories included dragons, fairies, and aliens. Guddu’s mother was delighted to hear many of these beautiful stories.

The night came, and Guddu’s mother went upstairs to go to bed. The children said goodbye to her, and Guddu hugged her.

“Thank you, Mom. I’m having so much fun!” the boy told her.

“I’m so glad to hear that, sweetheart. The only thing that matters is being surrounded by the people who love you,” stated his mother, kissing him on the forehead, “Good night, son!” “Good night, Mom!”

The kids settled into their sleeping bags and continued chatting for a while longer. Something extraordinary happened at that moment. One of the windows was open, and some fireflies came into the living room, illuminating the children’s surprised faces.

“This is magical!” exclaimed Danny.

“It’s like we camped outside!” said Guddu.

All the children watched the spectacle. Little by little, they fell asleep, and in their dreams, they were all together. They were moving through a beautiful forest, guided by hundreds of fireflies, which made them happy.

In the morning, when he woke up, Guddu looked at all his friends and felt glad to have spent a fantastic evening with all of them. The boy learned that to be happy, it was enough to be with the people you love. He discovered that fun could be found anywhere; you just have to participate!
